Trauma-informed tele-health counselling through a person-centred and integrative approach.

My Approach

I offer trauma-informed tele-health counselling for adults and couples, and have supported a variety of clients with a wide range of challenges. Couples Therapy

In couples therapy, we explore relationship and marital issues through Emotionally Focused Couples Therapy (EFCT). We work through understanding attachment theory and different attachment styles, conflict styles, love languages and communication patterns. To further support couples at a specialist level, I am currently undergoing Gottman Training with The Gottman Institute, to provide couples with Gottman Method Couples Therapy.

Person-Centred Therapy (PCT)

Through building a safe therapeutic relationship, we focus on your perspective and experience, allowing you to reflect, feel heard, explore and change your experiences through self-awareness. Every individual is unique and your experiences and emotions are valid, so it's important not to generalise or stereotype what you're feeling, by instead focusing on your unique journey.

Emotion Focused Therapy (EFT)

At times, our emotions can feel overwhelming and hard to identify, especially when dealing with anxiety, depression or trauma. EFT focuses on creating a safe space for you to be vulnerable, feel heard and seen. This then improves your self-awareness around naming your emotions, identifying root causes, and creating corrective emotional experiences, allowing you to normalise, accept and transform your emotions.

Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT)

Many situations in life can be hard to accept, such as when processing trauma, grief and loss. Often, the first step in this journey is to identify and accept your experience, by focusing on being present in the moment. ACT focuses on acceptance, mindfulness and developing your psychological flexibility so adverse situations become easier to manage.

Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT)

CBT focuses on addressing your root thoughts, feelings and behaviours. Often after repeated negative experiences in life, we develop unhelpful thought patterns which make us spiral, so it is important to identify and challenge these, to break out of unhealthy habits and cycles.

Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT)

When facing change or adverse life situations, emotions are intense and overwhelming and our nervous systems can switch into “flight or fight” mode. Individuals may also resort to unhealthy coping mechanisms such as negative self-talk and self-harm. So through DBT, you can learn skills and strategies to help you cope with challenging situations, and regulate your emotions and nervous system.

Internal Family Systems (IFS) Therapy

Click to learn more

Family systems, relationships and the roles we play in life can be complex, especially for those who have experienced childhood trauma or were raised in toxic and abusive families. IFS therapy allows us to explore the multiple sub-personalities or ‘parts’ within each person such as the “protector,” “inner child,” or “wounded” part and helps clients with re-identifying with their “core or true self.”

Solution-Focused Therapy (SFT) & Strengths Based Approach

When faced with adversity, it's easy to spiral and lose sight of the big picture. So through SFT and a strengths based approach, we identify your strengths, resilience, skills and learnings, to focus on achievable goals and solutions, allowing you to take steps towards progressive change.

Narrative Therapy

Multiple experiences and milestones can shape the way you view your overall life journey and can be shared through the use of stories and metaphors. Narrative Therapy, allows us to empower you with re-authoring your life story, by processing major life experiences that have shaped who you are today, allowing you to identify positive self-worth, strengths, resilience and personal growth.
